Commercial Obsession: Target "less" Commercials
I don't know how I end up watching so many commercials since I watch 95% of my television on DVR, but I do.
Here's a relatively recent Target spot I am loving right now (not the best quality, but you'll get the picture):
How clever, using all the "less" words. Seems to me like some advertising creative person should be getting a raise because even Rosie read a fan question asking her if she liked the Target commercials on a recent video blog entry. And Ro said "yes."
Buy the song featured in the commercial. It's A Little Bit More by Jamie Lidell. On iTunes.

V-Cast Dudes
I finally signed up for V-Cast from Verizon Wireless. I'm not sure exactly how it's going to fit into my life at this point, but it's fun. The next gen of phones coming out has streaming LIVE TV to the phone and I think that would have interested me more, but that requires something a little out of my price range. The videos are cool. The mobile web is an all right time killer - although nothing even close to the real web which I have at home and work. For so long I just wasn't sure what made me into having V-Cast.
And then it hit me.
It's these V-Cast guys. Verizon has dumped, or at least given temporary reprieve to their nerdy service guy for V-Cast for a series of V-Cast related commercials that seem to be talking directly to gay men. Or maybe teenage girls. Sometimes the marketing to those two demographics has a pretty fine line in my opinion. The one with the sweaty-hot guy at the gym and the other with the dorky-sexy dog owner at the dog park both get me. I actually stop fast forwarding the DVR for those commercials almost every time I see them buzzing by. I rewind and watch them from start to finish. Maybe I'm a slave to marketing and that's why I'm shelling out 15 bucks a month for a service I'm not sure I need, let alone know how it will fit into my mobile life. Anyway, I've enclosed the two shady versions of the commercials I could find here.
See the way he looks me up and down. He totally wants me...to buy V-Cast.
Sharing earphones is totally hot. And see when he gets pumped and his biceps tense up. Sign me up, hottie.
The main flaw in these commercials is that, even though each guy puts the headphones on me, he can still hear and "dance" to each of the songs. I'm not really that bothered it.
I'll keep you posted if I find something habitual to do with my V-Cast service.
