Blah Blah Blog: Other People LIVE BLOG The Emmys

Two very entertaining ways to relive the Emmy's:

1. EW.com's
Michael Slezak, funny, gay and usually spot on.
His best line of the night -

11:08 p.m. Tomorrow, you can find James Gandolfini and Edie Falco in their matching, "My producers picked up Emmys, and all I got was this stupid musical tribute from Jersey Boys" t-shirts.

2. Joan F-ing Rivers. Her daughter, Melissa. Sitting safely (and comfortably) in something I imagine to be like the Grey Gardens of Park Avenue.
Their best line of the night-

Joan: Biggest disappointment since my wedding night? Michael Imperioli not winning. The reason? His wife isn’t big enough. Looks like Terry O’Quinn already has a giant golden statue. Here’s one thing that will never be Lost… Terry O’Quinn’s wife!

Melissa: We learned more about Terry O’Quinn in the last 30 seconds than on how many seasons of Lost? Pink shirt, sparkly tie, and his wife.

And Joan Rivers is doing Red Carpet on YouTube. Very cutting edge.:

Best awards show in years - our of any of them - it ran smoothly, I laughed and I didn't get (too) bored. Of course, watching it on DVR and fast-forwarding the Tony Bennett and Robert Duvall related speeches certainly helps.

Best commercials of the night: Tina Fey's American Express ad and Every Celebrity with something to sell's Macy spot.

Next year, that old bitch Emmy turns sixty - will Friday Night Lights make the cut? If you were watch it this season that would help.

P.S. Ryan Seacrest was not a complete disappointment. But, is he even human? I think he might be part droid. If I knew what a droid was.
