A New Family On Sunday Night: Brothers & Sisters

Have you been watching The Walkers? Brothers & Sisters on ABC has successfully brought the dysfunctional big family back to prime time with this deep set of characters and fresh, engaging story lines.

It's not quite the family life of
Friday Night Lights, but with Sally Field at the helm, this show is really starting to stick with me and has made Sunday nights on ABC something to look forward to. It follows one of the worst put-together shows on television, Desperate Housewives, and really smacks them across the face with characters that share relevant scenes, episodes that flow, real funny moments, real touching ones and a cast that has yet to have rumors of feuding amongst themselves before the end of its first season.

Plus, Smith Jerrod (aka
Jason Lewis) as a closeted, gay soap star making out with an out gay main character who's not all about being gay. Even though, in my last sentence I said gay three times. Oh, well, he is.

It's kind of a sleeper hit, but now I'm officially adding it to the list of Nick'd television.

For those wishing to catch up quickly on B&S, it looks like
WABC 7 in NYC is airing a clips show this Saturday afternoon at 2:30pm. So, wake up, eat some greasy food to get over that hangover and give this one a shot. If you're not in New York, check local listings.

It's quality family drama.

And it's got sally, Sally, SALLY Field.
(That was my attempt to blog Sally's name using the Sally Field School of Acting, which I just made up. It's when she says a word or phrase about three times starting quietly and increaingly gets louder, more emphatic, and often more angry each time.)
