JUST IN from a quick stop at the Cosmo Fun Fearless Male awards at Cipriani. What a room!
I only stayed for the first half of the awards, but the highlight was Dennis Leary thanking revolutionary Cosmo editor Helen Gurley-Brown for creating a magazine for which he (and all men of his persuasion) could sneak peeks while their girlfriends were at work...even the soft-spoken Forest Whitaker (I mean, seriously, he's a big guy and he had such a tender, almost whisper-y tone) had to agree that Cosmo teaches the dudes how to please the ladies.
Brandon Routh, the world's new and hot Superman, is TALL and way handsome...David Wright, third baseman for the Mets also adorable...Omar Epps wins best dressed of the set I saw...James Marseden has been in so many movies and, although he is blessed with quite a face, I never remember him, I don't even remember his speech from 30 minutes ago...and Julian McMahon is one sexy Aussie...other recipients (from the second half, which I'm missing as I type this) included Nick Lachey, Jeremy Piven, Ludacris, Justin Chambers, Tom Everett Scott,and Chris Evans (who walked past me and Ally on our way out - scruffy and delicious).
I tell ya, Kate White and her cracker jack editorial team know how to pick 'em. Look for coverage tonight on the entertainment shows and see the guys in the current February 2007 issue of Cosmopolitan .
Also, Carmen Electra is the cover girl of the huge-selling January 07 issue (something like 3 million copies!) of the mag, and also hosted today's event and is FFM's title sponsor Max Factor's spokesperson. She's teeny tiny and was a perfect little hostess.)
The egg roll smell seems to have dissipated. Thanks for your concern. Midtown Manhattan can rest easy.
